Herpes
It is recommended to apply the patch as soon as you experience first symptoms like burning or tingling and to wear the patch day and night changing it as needed. The patch adheres reliably to the skin of the lips for several hours. As long as the patch remains firmly attached to the skin there is no need to remove it. Only when it starts to detach, replace it with a new one. To remove the patch you must simply pull it gently in a direction parallel to your skin.
The patch is specifically designed so that commonly used decorative substances such as make up and lipstick can be applied over the patch to conceal the cold sore discreetly. The reliable adhesion of the patch will not be affected provided that make-up or lipstick are applied over the patch.
The patch is not intended to be applied at the same time as other products, e.g. other medicated topical products such as creams, at the same application site as this may affect adhesion and efficacy of the patch.
You should consult a doctor if:
- The cold sore does not heal within 10-12 days
- Symptoms are severe
- You have frequent recurrences of cold sores
- You experience irritation in your eyes
- If the cold sore shows signs of infection like increased redness, pain, heat, swelling or spreads to other skin areas or the oral cavity and of course in any case of uncertainty or further questions.
