Dealing with corns

According to medical science, corns are a minor foot disorder. However, they can be very painful and cause lots of discomfort when moving about. And they’re not a very pretty sight either.

Causes

  • Corns are caused by too much punctual pressure on the feet, e.g. from tight or ill-fitting shoes.

  • If your skin is affected by permanent pressure, it will react by forming calloused skin that develops into a corn with a hard core that then pushes against deeper, sensitive skin, which causes pain.

Treatment

  • Soften the skin with a warm, soothing foot bath and moisturize them regularly.

  • Use a pumice stone to remove calloused skin.

  • Relieve the pain by using special protective products to remove pressure.

  • Products containing salicylic acid will help to remove corns in an easy, one-step application.
