Foot etiquette
Baring feet in public - yes or no,
and if yes, when and where?
Some insights, do’s and don’ts
Go or no go - when is baring soles acceptable?
There are plenty of occasions when it‘s perfectly acceptable to lose your shoes. But unless there‘s a beach, a pool, or a yoga mat nearby, is there a need to bare your soles in public?

Do you want to see a woman‘s toes wiggling on the seat beside you on the train to work, a guy sitting across from you at the office who kicked off his shoes under the desk and sports his socks? Maybe even with holes in them?

Foot etiquette 2011 is easier than you think - most of it is common sense, like always wearing a pair of good, clean socks - especially when you know you will be asked to take your shoes off, as is often the case at airport security.
Here are some do‘s and don‘ts you can adhere to, even if temperatures rise.

DOs
Show off well pedicured feet in flip-flops – but not in the office!
Slip shoes off on a beach, by the pool or in the garden and show off well-pedicured feet (see our topic: how to give yourself a great pedicure)

Use an anti-perspirant such as Hansaplast Silver Active when you tend to sweat a lot – you’ll be well prepared and protected from odour development in case you have to show your feet or take off your socks unexpectedly.
DON´Ts
drop_shoes
Don’t drop your shoes under a desk, restaurant or dinner table (unless you want to flirt with the partner who is sitting across from you)
Don’t wear socks that you have already worn the day before.
Don’t put your naked feet ON a table (unless you are at home and it is your own couch table), on seats in public transport, at movie theatres etc.
Don’t use socklets in sandals or strappy shoes. Instead, use  Hansaplast Anti Blister Gel to protect your feet from friction or pressure that might easily turn into blisters.

Fashion alert:
Socks and sandals? Yes, you can!
A brand new fashion trend: lots of things that were a complete no-go before are now not only allowed, but really hip, such as wearing socks with sandals or in pumps.

Fashion-conscious girls and women love to match and go, and who can resist a new pair of pumps to kick off a new season? Just prepare your feet so you won‘t have to kick your shoes in the corner anytime soon: Take a selection of Hansaplast SOS Blister Plasters with you when you know you will be walking a bit and wearing your new pumps or sandals for the first time. Or, even better, protect your feet with Hansaplast Anti Blister Gel or Hansaplast Pressure Stop. Both are invisible and will,  once applied,  keep your feet healthy and undamaged.

What’s a foot turn-off for you?

”Feet can say just as much about a person as shoes or hands! Lots of people tend to somehow put feet last in their care regimens.

"A little care
goes a long way."

I don‘t really know why, as it‘s so easy to avoid having to present feet with chipped nail polish, unsightly corns or rough, calloused skin to the world. Well-cared for feet are just a much prettier sight“
