Travelling feet:
A city trip to Paris
A weekend in a fabulous city is great,
but doesn’t necessarily mean a holiday
for your feet. We show you how to survive
Sightseeing or shopping should be fun
Travelling is great, but doesn’t necessarily mean a holiday for your feet. A long day of walking, whether sightseeing or shopping – can wear your feet out and give you nasty blisters. We let you in on the secret of experiencing a happy day’s walking instead of hell on the high streets. Hannah was up on her feet all day on her city trip to Paris – and knows how to survive a day by foot.

”I never leave home without blister plasters.”
My Paris weekend is off to a good start. Breakfast at a café on Boulevard St. Germain, near my wonderful Hotel. While enjoying a cup of steaming hot café au lait and munching a croissant with delicious confiture, I lay out my plan for the day: A walk to the Musée d’Orsay, and then some serious shopping at Galeries Lafayette in the afternoon. Because I am in Paris, the fashion capital of the world, I have decided to wear my new ankle booties. Bien sûr!

It’s a beautiful, glorious morning, a perfect day for sightseeing. I walk across St. Germain, cross the Seine and find myself queuing for twenty minutes at the Musée d’Orsay. My feet...! Obviously, I am not the only one dying for some culture. So much to see! The Monets that I have been wanting to see all my life are breathtaking, but suddenly, so is the pain on my heels. Walking seems more painful than not being able to afford the latest Balenciaga bag that I saw in a shop window yesterday. But what does a clever girl do?

”Oh là-là!
I can walk again!“

Prepare for the worst and brace yourself. I find the next bench, take off my boots and socks – oh dear, a blister has already formend – and slip on a Hansaplast SOS Blister Plaster. I never leave home without one when I know that I will be walking a lot, as it is an ingenious invention: It allows me to keep going, even when a blister has formed, by taking the pressure off the nasty thing. I can even put my shoes back on without any pain. Phew, what a relief. Oh là-là! I can walk again! And know that the plaster will work its magic and help the blister heal.
”My Hansapalst Pocket Pack with SOS Blister Plaster is a life saver!”
Nevertheless, I treat myself to a taxi to have lunch at my next stop, the Philippe-Starck-designed restaurant Kong, in Rue du Pont Neuf. A breathtaking view from up there, across the Seine.

When the check comes, I start to look for my purse and scatter all the stuff in my handbag (unfortunately not the new Balenciaga) on the seat next to me. A nice Swedish girl sitting at the next table notices the cute little Hansaplast Pocket Pack that I always carry with me. Apparently, she is also suffering from a trop of Paris mileage, so I am glad to offer her one of my miracle plasters.

”Suddenly,
my overused feet
are feeling fine“

love the little Pocket Pack, that plastic box is my life saver when I am on the go. It contains SOS Blister Plasters, and I always make sure to slip it into my travel luggage. In return for one of the plasters and my recommendation, the Swedish girl offers me the address of a little boutique that carries great handbags, just near my hotel. But first, I have to be off to my next stop... and later the Marais... and hey, why not, my overused feet are doing fine. Now, all I have to worry about now is the overuse of my credit card!

Traveling Do’s and Don’ts
Whether you climb up the Eiffel Tower, go gallery-hopping in Berlin, trekking in the alps, or have to walk a long distance to the beach - here’s how to survive it all without foot pain:
DOs

Plan your trip before you leave your hotel. Try to align the route. Which is the most convenient bus or tube route? Find out which stops are nearest to the spots you want to visit and try to coordinate them.

Try to allow enough time to shop without stress. Plan a midday break for a bite to eat and refreshments. This will give your feet a chance to recover and relax.

Protect your feet. Use a blister plaster, such as Hansaplast SOS Blister Plaster (comes in different sizes) or Hansaplast Pressure Stop (can be cut to any desired shape).

Hansaplast SOS Blister Plaster makes sure that intrepid travellers won’t be stopped in their tracks. Simply place the adhesive and virtually invisible pad on the blister for instant relief from pressure pain, and allow it to work its magic. The extra strong and skin-friendly adhesive ensures that the plaster stays in place and that you can keep walking without pain, no matter how long or  far you venture out.

Make sure you include a bit of wellness in your travel schedule, especially after a long day of sightseeing. Don’t forget to pamper your feet, since lots of walking dries them out. Stop for a foot massage while you’re in town or treat your feet to a massage with Hansaplast Velvet Feet. A real treat for feet on the go!

Long sightseeing or shopping trips can lead to foot odour, especially on hot days, when you may be wearing shoes without socks. The highly effective anti-perspirant Hansaplast Silver Active foot spray provides reliable and gentle protection from perspiration and foot odour, even for sensitive skin, thanks to its active antibacterial complex with silver ions.
DON´Ts

Don’t wear new shoes without breaking them in. If you need to wear new shoes, make sure to protect your feet from friction or pressure with Hansaplast Anti-Blister Gel, a Hansaplast SOS Blister Plaster or an individually cut piece in just the right size of the sheer Hansaplast Pressure Stop Plaster.

Don’t be too eager when discovering a new city. As nice as it is to discover cities by foot, make use of public transport. Make sure to rest your feet during lunch or coffee breaks.
ornament_text
Don’t be shy to ask for directions when you get lost – walking around in circles or in the wrong direction will only stress you and your feet out.
ornament_text
Don’t underestimate the mix of heat and humidity: Especially naked feet are prone to developing blisters. Protect your summer feet with Hansaplast Anti Blister Gel or Hansaplast Pressure Stop. Both will work even in strappy sandals as you won’t even detect the protection with the naked eye.

Don’t keep walking when you have noticed that your heels are rubbing and turning red or that you might be developing a blister. Apply a Hansaplast SOS Blister Plaster immediately
